Where to buy sex toys discreetly: 11 online stores compared
We checked the packaging, billing names, returns and prices at 11 online stores on 7 October 2026, Gays+ included, so you can pick the one that fits your life.
Buying a toy shouldn’t mean a nosy housemate at the door or a line on a shared card statement you’d rather not explain. But “discreet” means different things at different stores. On 7 October 2026 we checked 11 online stores, Gays+ included, on the four things that decide how private an order really is: the box and label, the name on your statement, what happens if a toy isn’t right, and the price.
Gays+ wrote this guide and sells sex toys, so read it with that in mind. We held ourselves to the same checks as everyone else, and every claim about another store comes from that store’s own pages, listed in the sources at the end. Prices are in US dollars, and policies change, so check before you buy.
What “discreet” should mean
- A plain outer box or mailer, with no store logo and no product names.
- A sender name on the label that doesn’t give away what’s inside.
- A billing name on your card or PayPal statement that doesn’t spell out what you bought.
- A privacy policy that rules out selling your details, and no catalogues you didn’t ask for.
One thing no store can hide: a parcel crossing a border needs customs paperwork that describes the contents accurately. Some stores tuck it into a sealed pouch; others print an itemised list on the outside. If that matters to you, buy from a store in your own country, or ask how its customs labels read.

Prices compared: the four toys guys start with
We priced the toys most guys buy first: a 7 to 8 inch realistic dildo in silicone (the material to look for, because it’s non-porous and easy to clean properly), a prostate massager, a cock ring and a beginner butt plug. The ranges come from the first page of each store’s category, at list price.
| Store | Silicone realistic dildo, 7–8 in | Prostate massager | Cock ring | Beginner plug |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gays+ | $24.99–$39.99 | $39.99–$69.95 | $9.90–$34.99 | $19.99 (silicone, three sizes) |
| Lovehoney | $32.99–$64.99 | $29.99–$229.99 | $7.99–$139 | $12.99–$16.99 |
| Adam & Eve | Few in silicone (10 in, $84.99); most are TPE or PVC at $22.99–$49.99 | $24.99–$219.99 | $4.99–$119.99 | $7.99–$24.99 |
| Mr S Leather | $78.95 to about $195 (PVC from $39.95) | $57.95–$219.95 | $3–$77.95 | $29.95–$69.95 |

Store by store
- Lovehoney: the best safety net if you’re not sure what you’ll like. Besides 30-day returns on unopened toys, its 100-Day Pleasure Guarantee takes back one opened toy per order for a gift voucher (you pay the postage). The US site ships only within the US, and its shipping table ($59) and help centre ($49) disagree on free shipping.
- Adam & Eve: the most generous returns we found, covering any item for any reason within 90 days, opened or not, though you pay the return postage. Statements read “Adam Mail”. Check materials, though: most of its 7 to 8 inch realistic dildos are TPE or PVC rather than silicone.
- Mr S Leather: the San Francisco leather store founded by Alan Selby in 1979, with a deep range of gay-focused gear and premium toy brands at premium prices. Parcels come from “M.S.L.”, but international parcels sent by post carry itemised customs paperwork on the outside.
- Spencer’s: a mall chain with a cheeky adult section. Its own FAQ says the Spencer’s name and logo appear on the outside of the box (it may be a typo, so ask if it matters), intimate products can’t be returned, and it ships only to the US and Canada.
- Amazon: cheap and fast, but read the listing. Items often arrive in their own retail packaging unless you choose “Ship in Amazon box”, the sexual-wellness listings we checked were non-returnable, and material claims on unbranded toys are the seller’s word.
- Peepshow Toys: a well-curated store that bills and ships as “Hamilton Park Electronics” and seals customs forms in a pouch. The catch: no returns or exchanges, with zero exceptions.
- Bellesa Boutique: mostly aimed at women, with a small For Him range. Labels say “CONTAINERS PLUS” and statements “BBOUTIQUE”, and nothing that touches the body can be returned.
- Doc Johnson: a big US manufacturer selling direct, including SILEX-D silicone dildos. It says packaging, billing and emails never mention what’s inside. Returns are store credit only, and opened toys are final sale.
- LELO: premium and design-led, strong on prostate massagers and vibrating rings, but with no realistic dildos. Unopened returns within 14 days, plus a 60-day guarantee that swaps an opened LELO device for a coupon.
- Fleshlight: best known for strokers, but its Fleshjack range includes silicone dildos at $69.95. Labels name the shipper as “ILF, LLC”, and opened items can’t come back.
Where Gays+ fits
We’re a store for gay men first, so toys, underwear and pride gear sit in one place, with the 18+ shop kept separate from the everyday one. Standard shipping is free on every order with no minimum, parcels arrive in plain brown or white packaging with no Gays+ branding, and your card or PayPal statement shows our business name, never the products. Want to check the exact wording before you order? Ask us.
Where we’re weaker: we’re not the fastest. Standard delivery to the US usually takes 7 to 20 days (up to 40 if stock runs low), and a return can mean posting to an overseas address. Like most stores, we can’t take back a used toy, so if you want the option to return an opened one, Adam & Eve’s 90-day policy or Lovehoney’s guarantee beats ours.
Seven ways to keep an order private
- Pick a store with a neutral sender and billing name (see the table), or ask before you buy.
- Share a mailbox? Send it to a parcel locker or a pickup point instead.
- Track the parcel so you can be there when it arrives.
- Use an email address only you read, and untick marketing emails at checkout.
- Pay with a card or PayPal account whose statement only you see.
- On Amazon, choose “Ship in Amazon box” when it’s offered.
- Keep toys in a plain bag that zips or locks, and flatten the box before it goes in a shared recycling bin.
Tip: New to toys? Our beginner’s starter kit covers what to buy first, and how to clean sex toys keeps them in good shape.

Kits & storage
Good questions
What does discreet shipping mean?
A plain outer box with no store logo or product names, a sender name on the label that doesn’t give the contents away, and a billing name that doesn’t say what you bought. Customs paperwork on international parcels still has to describe the contents.
What will show on my bank statement?
It depends on the store. Adam & Eve shows “Adam Mail”, Peepshow Toys “Hamilton Park Electronics” and Bellesa Boutique “BBOUTIQUE”, and Amazon uses its usual descriptors. Gays+ shows our business name, never the products.
Is Amazon packaging discreet?
Not always. Amazon says items that can’t be gift-wrapped often arrive in their original packaging, so choose “Ship in Amazon box” at checkout when it’s offered.
Can I return a sex toy I’ve opened?
At most stores, no. Adam & Eve accepts any item within 90 days, Lovehoney’s 100-Day Pleasure Guarantee takes one opened toy per order for a voucher, and LELO’s 60-day guarantee swaps an opened LELO device for a coupon. Faulty toys are covered almost everywhere.
